The Giants and Jets are set for their annual preseason matchup on Sunday, with the cross-town rivals doing battle to earn MetLife Stadium bragging rights. Both teams are coming off 4-13 seasons, but both are in very different positions entering 2022.
With their recent arrival in East Rutherford, head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen have a lot of work to do in assessing their roster in 2022. Whether or not this is a truly lost season relies on what Daniel Jones turns out to be, considering the team has plenty of talent on either side of the ball. It’s Daboll’s mission to get the most out of Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay and others, to improve on one of the league’s worst offensive units.
On the other side of New York New Jersey, Robert Saleh’s Jets have stayed in the fight in two preseason matchups vs. the Eagles and Falcons, coming from behind to win both matchups. The Jets are finally looking to be heading in the right direction after a stellar offseason orchestrated by GM Joe Douglas. But, the proof is in the pudding, and the only way to go is up from here.
