The Hawks will need much more output from All-Star guard Trae Young, who has been completely held in check by the Heat’s feisty defense.

Young – who led the entire NBA in total points and assists this season – has been held under 10 points twice in this series. Miami has even shut off his playmaking, keeping him under double-digit assists in all four games to this point. Young is averaging just 16.5 points and 6.0 assists while shooting 35.1 percent from the field and 21.2 percent from 3.

And while the Heat’s defense has been the talking point of this series, All-Star forward Jimmy Butler’s offensive production deserves more attention.

Butler has scored over 20 points in every contest, averaging 30.5 points per game for the series. With 45 points in Game 2 and 36 points in Game 4, Butler has fully morphed into “Playoff Jimmy,” even shooting efficiently from 3-point range at 43.8 percent.

Will Butler put the nail in the coffin on the Hawks’ season? Or will Young break out of his slump to keep Atlanta fighting?
