The 2022 World Juniors is set to start this week, with 10 teams meeting up in Edmonton to battle it out for a gold medal. The tournament traditionally takes place around the holiday season in late December but was canceled in 2021 because due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The United States enters as defending champs. Team USA defeated Team Canada 2-0 in the gold medal game during the 2021 tournament, winning its fifth-ever gold medal.
The action starts on Tuesday, Aug. 9 with a matchup between Czechia and Slovakia kicking off the 12 days of action.

How to watch 2022 World Juniors in the USA
TV channel: NHL Network
The NHL Network will be responsible for airing coverage of all tournament matchups in the United States, starting with Czechia vs. Slovakia on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m.
E.J. Hradek will provide play-by-play duties for all games with Team USA. He will be joined by analyst Dave Starman and reporter Jon Rosen on the broadcasts.
How to watch 2022 World Juniors in Canada
TV channel: TSN, RDS
As the official broadcast partner for Team Canada, TSN and RDS, for the French-speaking audience, will be responsible for airing all tournament matchups, including quarterfinal, semifinal and medal games.
Gord Miller is expected to be on the call for TSN. His typical broadcast partner, Ray Ferraro, elected not to join the team covering the games in Edmonton.

Those without cable in Canada are still able to watch all 31 tournament games from TSN’s digital platforms. Viewers will be able to access highlights, goal-by-goal updates, live scores and stats for each tournament game.

Canada, Finland, the United States and Sweden are the clear frontrunners to win this year’s tournament, with the Canadians holding the best odds at +116. All four countries are +400 or higher, while the other six teams are +1386 or lower.
